Well, after much consideration and deep thought, I am proud to announce that my old club, the Slug Club, will be resuming meetings this Thursday afternoon in my office. The Slug Club was the premiere club at Hogwarts for up-and-coming students, the men and women of tomorrow's Wizarding World. Discussion and activities will center around your life after Hogwarts, networking, and building synergy. There will be guest speakers, as well as special activities that I believe you will find most interesting.
Unfortunately, due to the overwhelming demand that I am sure to face, I cannot leave membership wide open and expect the club to do anything but flounder. We tried that the first year that the Slug Club opened, and it was an absolute disaster. I remember Michael Slaterly had to actually charm three charging autograph seekers when they tried to tackle Woodrith Velencamp (then head coach of the Chudley Cannons). Good times, I tell you. And we shall have them again!
Below is the guest list for the first meeting. It is informal, so robes are not required, however it would be good to bring a little something to pass around the table. I heartily recommend crystalised pineapple, but truffles do go a long way toward creating a sociable atmosphere.
It should also be noted that we will have a guest speaker at our meeting. Professor Snape has graciously offered to give a presentation entitled, "Career Advancement: How to Secure Your Dream Job In Twelve Easy Steps".
UPDATE: Due to scheduling problems, the Slug Club meeting has been MOVED to Monday afternoon. Please make adjustments as necessary. I apologize for the delay. If someone would just make up his mind, we wouldn't have had this problem.
